Modern Slavery Statement

Updated: January 2024

1. INTRODUCTION

Slavery, servitude, forced labor and human trafficking (collectively “Modern Slavery”) around the world are critical issues that global government and law enforcement agencies are actively working to address. In the United Kingdom specifically, the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 requires businesses to be proactive in eliminating Modern Slavery from their organizations and supply chains. US Tech Solutions fully supports the Act and is committed to fostering a work environment that respects human rights and freedom.

We leverage our extensive network, advanced technology platforms, and industry expertise to deliver customized solutions that drive business success.

US Tech supports mainly professional “white-collar” roles. We do not hire workers in manufacturing, construction, mining, hospitality, agriculture, or other manual labor roles. Our hiring process involves sourcing and recruiting candidates from professional job boards and networking, applicants are interviewed at least twice either in person or via video chat, and when a client selects the applicant they want, an offer is made to the applicant, and they are free to accept or decline. When an applicant accepts an offer of employment, they are provided with an Employment Agreement clearly outlining the terms of employment, including information about payroll and benefits. A termination clause is included giving both employer and employee the right to terminate the employment.

New Hires are provided with an Employee Handbook and Safety Manual, which together explain the procedures that employees can use to report any concerns or suspicious behavior of any type. Employees will not be retaliated against for making any genuine reports.

Our Supply Chains

Due to the service-based nature of our business, US Tech has a limited supply chain supporting our operations. Our office spaces are leased in commercial buildings where the landlord handles all property management matters such as energy supply, facilities maintenance, cleaning, and security. We purchase office supplies and IT equipment from reputable retailers. As we do not manufacture any products, we do not have suppliers providing us with materials or parts. In the staffing industry, it is common to use subcontractors, however, the majority of workers we supply to our clients are direct employees of US Tech.

3. DUEDILIGENCE:

All subcontractors must sign our contract which outlines our expectations for our subcontractors such as complying with human rights laws, that workers have proper identification and are authorized to work in the applicable country, that they are paid a fair wage, that overtime hours must be approved in advance and do not exceed a set amount of time, and that workers are generally not forced to work and are free to resign if they so choose. Subcontractors are not allowed to have additional subcontracting layers below them.

We validate subcontractor compliance with our contractual terms and conditions as well as legal requirements by collecting certain documentation about the subcontractor and their worker(s) before an individual can begin an assignment. We run the name of the subcontractor’s business name and its owner(s) names through multiple sanctions databases and verify the business registration, licenses, and business insurance. The subcontractor’s

worker is subject to a background check which includes identity verification, criminal searches, employment & education verifications, and sanctions checks.

We conduct audits annually and reserve the right to audit the subcontractors’ records and books at any time.

When working with a subcontractor, our internal employees are trained to identify red flags such as: refusal to participate in video interviews; shared contact details such as phone numbers and email addresses; shared emergency contact details; unusual similarities in resumes, etc.

Workers placed at a client through a subcontractor have a direct line of communication with us as well, and they are free to raise any concerns they may have about themselves or others. They may do so without fear of retaliation.

If any subcontractors are found to be engaged in modern slavery, US Tech will act swiftly to ensure the safety of the workers, notify the proper authorities, and terminate our business relationship.

As a result of our diligent and thorough procedures, US Tech is happy to report that we have found zero evidence of modern slavery in our supply chain.
